AeroVironment has received a $44.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Army to provide hardware and parts for Block 10C Switchblade miniature aerial missile systems.
The company will supply equipment for inert training vehicles and all up rounds, multi pack launchers and modular battery payloads, the Defense Department said Friday.
DoD noted the service branch will use fiscal 2017 missile procurement appropriations funds to cover the full obligated amount.
Work will take place in Simi Valley, California, through September 2019.
The Army awarded AeroVironment a $22.8 million contract in 2016 to produce Block 10C systems designed to help warfighters conduct force protection and precision strike missions.
