Gus Hunt, cybersecurity strategy lead at Accenture’s federal services business, has said the company plans to establish a security operations center in San Antonio, Texas, that would provide cybersecurity support to federal agencies that lack budget to hire cyber professionals, the San Antonio Express-News reported Monday.
“It allows us to deliver managed, shared services to a number of federal clients in a secure manner so that they can take advantage of the best talent that’s there, but they don’t have to acquire that talent themselves and therefore they’re not competing in this slim market for ever increasingly expensive resources,â€Â Hunt told the publication in an interview.
He said Accenture Federal Services will provide onshore cyber support services to agencies through the 24-hour facility in San Antonio, where approximately 1,300 company employees are based.
Hunt also cited the presence of cyber talent in San Antonio through the National Security Agency Texas, 24th and 25th Air Force, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency outposts and research laboratories.
