Thales‘ defense and security business has received a one-year, $7.2 million delivery order from the U.S. Navy to repair five items related to H-1 helicopter program.
The sole-source order will include repair work on H-1 modules and helmets, the Defense Department said Friday.
The Navy will obligate $3.5 million at the time of award from its fiscal 2018 working capital funds.
Work will take place in Clarksburg, Maryland and Bordeaux, France.
The H-1 program aims to update the U.S. Marine Corps‘ current utility and attack aircraft platforms with the UH-1Y Venom and AH-1Z Viper.
Eighty-five percent of Venom and Viper components are designed to have identical features.
