LifePort, a business unit of Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky subsidiary, has received a contract from a Middle Eastern customer to provide systems that work to protect Black Hawk helicopter crew and passengers against ground-based ballistic threats.
The order is for 25 customized Black Hawk Ballistic Protection Systems, Lockheed said Tuesday.
Noah Zuckerman, general manager at LifePort, said the company aims to continue to deliver systems designed to help defend U.S. and foreign clients as they perform missions.
Black Hawk is built to support combat assault, medical evacuation, aerial firefighting, search and rescue, special operations and VIP transport operations.
LifePort designs, integrates and certifies lightweight armor products for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft platforms.
