Accenture has secured a potential six-year, $138 million contract to help modernize the Commonwealth of Virginia’s system for processing and managing Medicaid claims.
The company said Thursday it will support the implementation and operation of core systems for the state’s Medicaid Enterprise infrastructure as part of the Modular Core Services Solutions contract.
The Commonwealth will adopt two Public Health Platform modules from the company as part of the state’s Medicaid Enterprise System.
APHP is designed to comply with information technology infrastructure standards and modularity requirements established by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services.
Chris Mirro, head of Accenture’s North American public service health practice, the company aims to help accelerate the state’s process to deploy technology components for its new Medicaid system.
The Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services plans to separately procure and implement other components and services from the company through the MCSS contract.
