Sunnie House, vice president and western regional manager within the North American rail business of Parsons, has been appointed to chair the California Transportation Foundation’s board of directors.
She will lead the charitable organization that backs California’s transportation community through grant programs for industry workers and their families as well as scholarships for students pursuing transportation-related subjects, Parsons said Monday.
The more than 33-year transportation sector veteran oversees Parsons’Â rail business operations across western Mississippi in her current position.
House, a registered civil engineer, spent five years at the California Department of Transportation in Los Angeles before she entered the private sector.
She has served in various professional organizations such as the Women’s Transportation Seminar, the California chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies and the California Transportation Foundation.
