Canada-based Magellan Aerospace has delivered the first power control unit under a contract in support of a future international space operation.
The delivery follows the company’s selection by the University of Colorado Boulder’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics to provide three PCUs that will be used for control and data handling units, Magellan Aerospace said Monday.
Each PCU is built as a scalable device designed to distribute and manage power consumption, while the C&DH units help facilitate the processing of a spacecraft’s command and control assets.
The company manufactures the PCUs at its production facility in Winnipeg, Canada.
Magellan Aerospace globally offers components and systems with applications to aircraft and spacecraft.
