Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, senior vice president of government strategy and policy for Inmarsat Government, has been chosen by Women in Technology as a finalist in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics leadership category for the nonprofit organization’s 19th annual leadership awards.
Inmarsat said Thursday WIT will hold its annual awards banquet on May 17 in Tysons Corner, Virginia, to recognize notable female professionals in government and technology sectors.
Cowen-Hirsh formed in 2012 a committee within the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association – WIN – that seeks to help female technology and communications professionals build up professional development and expand networks.
She also encourages female mentors to take part in AFCEA NOVA’s Adopt-a-School initiative to promote STEM education.
