Drone Delivery Canada to Expand Testing Program to UAS Site in New York - top government contractors - best government contracting eventDrone Delivery Canada has announced its commercial unmanned aircraft system testing program is being expanded to cover the U.S., starting at the first quarter of 2018.

The company said Monday the testing program will have activities that are to take place at the Griffiss International Airport’s Federal Aviation Administration-approved UAS test venue in Rome, New York.

DDC’s Sparrow X1000 drone will be tested under the program’s expansion, following the UAS receiving Transport Canada compliant status in December 2017.

The company will make use of its FLYTE management software to aid test flights involving semi-autonomy and beyond visual line of site.

The program’s U.S. activities will be conducted to complement the effort’s BVLOS tests occurring at the UAS Center of Excellence in Quebec, Canada.
