The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will conduct an information drive for parties interested to participate in a program that seeks a ground-launched weapon system that can utilize different payloads.
DARPA’s Tactical Technology Office will sponsor a Proposers Day to detail the objectives of the OpFires program ahead of a planned broad agency announcement, DARPA said through a Federal Business Opportunities website notice posted Thursday.
The event will run from Feb. 14 to 15 at the CENTRA Technology Conference Center in Arlington, Virginia.
OpFires aims to develop a weapons launcher propulsion system with a maximized operational range envelope and integration capability for various payloads to allow multi-range payload delivery.
DARPA intends for the program to address challenges in modern enemy air defense penetration and critical time-sensitive target engagement.
Registration will close Feb. 7.
