Cisco and Luxembourg’s government have entered into a three-year memorandum of understanding to implement efforts to accelerate the digitization of systems in the country.
Cisco said Tuesday the public-private partnership aligns with the Digital Luxembourg program and seeks to tackle four pillars that include cybersecurity, education, financial technology and internet of things.
“Luxembourg aims at attracting additional major investments allowing the digital conversion of our industry,” said Prime Minister Xavier Bettel.
Bettel added his administration aims to encourage citizens to support the country’s digital economy initiatives.
“Cisco is honored to partner with Prime Minister Bettel to help Luxembourg build a sustainable innovation ecosystem by investing in knowledge development, new revenue models and jobs of the future that will contribute to the global digital economy,” said Chuck Robbins, chairman and CEO of Cisco.
The company intends to launch a networking academy curriculum at the University of Luxembourg to offer free education for citizens as well as help financial service providers adopt technology platforms designed to manage customer experience and reduce risks related to cyber threats.
