IBM has received the 2018 Military Friendly Employer of the Year Award from Victory Media for the company’s efforts to hire military veterans.
Recipients of the 2018 Military Friendly Employer award will be featured in Victory Media’s G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines, IBM said Monday.
Sam Gordy, IBM general manager of IBM’s federal business, wrote in a blog post the company aims to employ an additional 2,000 former service members over the next four years.
Gordy added that IBM also expanded a nationwide initiative to train veterans in the i2 Analysts’ Notebook software, which is used in defense and law enforcement activities.
IBM has facilitated monthly training sessions across U.S. since January 2016 and will offer more sessions in 2018, according to Gordy.
The company also works with partners such as non-profit organization Corporate America Supports You to offer career placement services to former military personnel.
