The Army Corps of Engineers’ Huntsville Center in Alabama has selected a CH2M–Merrick joint venture to provide facility design services for the Missile Defense Agency‘s Ballistic Missile Defense Program.
CH2M said Tuesday it will conduct pre-design engineering studies and help design tactical support stations for missile defense weapons systems.
The company will also prepare design criteria; architectural and engineering designs; design-related analyses and studies; specifications; and cost estimates and economic analyses for missile launch, test and evaluation, training and administrative facilities.
Work will also include environmental documentation, topographical mapping and geotechnical investigation services.
The CH2M-Merrick JV and the USACE Huntsville Center will also collaborate to design electronic and physical security measures designed to safeguard missile defense weapon facilities against chemical, biological and radiological threats.
Services covered by the project will take place across the contiguous U.S., Alaska and Hawaii, as well as U.S. territories and possessions and military installations.
