Battelle has received a pair of contracts worth a combined $23 million to help the Air Force Research Laboratory conduct research on microelectronics security methods.
The company said Wednesday both contracts build on Battelle’s previous experience in exploring technologies designed to help address the proliferation of fake integrated circuits and embedded systems in the U.S. military supply chain.
“Ensuring the security and reliability of military microelectronics and embedded systems against the growing threat is an imperative,â€Â said Tom Bergman, cyber program manager at Battelle.
Battelle will collaborate with Applied Research Associates‘ BerrieHill research division and MacAulay-Brown under the research contracts awarded through the Microelectronics and Embedded Systems Assurance contract vehicle.
Work will occur at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, over the next four and a half years.
