BAE Systems‘ technology solutions and services business has received a $63.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to support strategic weapon systems for U.S. and U.K. Trident II submarine-launched ballistic missile programs.
The modification also covers services for the Navy’s SSGN guided-missile submarine attack weapons, nuclear weapon surety and future concepts, the Defense Department said Thursday.
DoD noted the full obligated amount is from fiscal 2018 Navy and U.K. government funds.
Trident II is designed to integrate with Ohio-class submarines and comprises a Trident II missile, a re-entry system and supporting shipboard systems that aid strategic nuclear deterrence missions.
Work under the modification will occur through Sept. 30, 2018, Â at various locations in California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington and the U.K.
