The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has awarded System of Systems Security a potential $30 million “other transaction” agreement to prototype technologies that can help update the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence and Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence.
NGA said Wednesday the project aims to accelerate research and development of prototypes to address challenges facing the intelligence community.
SOSSEC is a consortium of nonprofit, academic and industry member organizations with a common goal to develop tools and methods for government organizations to carry out missions.
U.S. Air Force Col. Marc DiPaolo, chief of innovation mainstreaming at NGA, said the OTA offers the agency “a very rapid way to engage with non-traditional providers to create prototypes and, if the prototype is successful, an acquisition path to go from prototype to full production without delay.”
