Battelle and Dedrone have agreed to explore methods for the development of an airspace security platform that will combine unmanned aerial system detection and defeat technologies.
The non-binding, non-exclusive partnership aims to build an integrated technology offering that will work to help protect sensitive infrastructure in the U.S. from drone threats, Battelle said Thursday.
San Francisco-based Dedrone has developed machine-learning software designed to recognize the characteristics of a drone through sensor data analysis as well as map a drone’s flight path and deliver warning of rogue drone presence.
Battelle created a man-portable counter-UAS system called DroneDefender to offer security protection for various federal government clients such the departments of Defense and Homeland Security.
Joerg Lamprecht, CEO and co-founder of Dedrone, said the alliance seeks to help secure government and military airspace with an integrated drone defeat and detection platform.
