Chris Ahsmann, vice president of mission systems at Boeing’s defense, space and security segment, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium.
He will replace the retiring Rick Baily, VP of Boeing’s test and evaluation business, NCOIC said Thursday.
Ahsmann “has a global perspective as well as diverse experience in engineering, mission assurance and program management,” said Harry Raduege, CEO of NCOIC.
Ahsmann was appointed senior chief engineer for Boeing’s missions systems, payloads and sensors in 2016 and oversees the development of mitigation strategies and corrective actions as well as helps determine and address technical risks.
He joined Boeing in 1985 and held several leadership roles such as director and chief engineer for the P-8Â aircraft program.
Ahsmann was involved in engineering work on several aircraft programs such as F-22, P-3 and E-6 planes.
NCOIC also named Erich Staudacher, general manager of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Europe, to the advisory council.
Staudacher is a 42-year military veteran who retired in 2016 as a major general in the German armed forces.
NCOIC is a nonprofit institution that has promoted interoperable networks across national borders and domains through development of technical resources and tools since 2004.
