Raytheon to Repair Navy P-3 Patrol Aircraft Radar - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRaytheon has secured a potential $17.8 million delivery order to repair the APS-137 radar system currently installed on the U.S. Navy‘s P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft.

The Navy obligated $13.6 million in fiscal 2017 working capital funds at the time of award, the Defense Department said Friday.

DoD noted the order falls under a previously awarded performance-based logistics contract and contains a six-month base period and one 30-month option.

APS-137 employs a synthetic aperture radar designed to search, detect and classify surface and air targets.

The P-3 aircraft, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, is designed for air, surface and subsurface surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
