The California State Teachers’ Retirement System has chosen NTT Data for a five-year agreement to maintain and operate the pension fund’s SAP-based business management system.
NTT Data said Tuesday it will conduct onsite maintenance for CalSTRS’ Business Direct system to support operations and business expansion of applications and services.
“CalSTRS was seeking a vendor that would be able to support expansion of their SAP system, while also providing a vision for their future within the SAP environment and integration across their entire IT portfolio,” said Tim Conway, president of NTT Data’s public sector group.
The NTT Group subsidiary will utilize RagingWire data centers from sister company NTT Communications to perform security and disaster recovery evaluations.
“In order for CalSTRS to sustain our ongoing success and focus on our mission — to secure the retirement future for California’s nearly 900,000 educators — it is imperative to have strong, collaborative working relationships and open communication between our business areas, IT operations, and the vendor,” said Ashish Jain, CalSTRS chief technology officer.
