Bill Varner, president of the mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group at ManTech International, received an alumni award from Purdue University’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at an awards banquet held Oct. 28.
Varner graduated from Purdue in 1975 with a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
ECE’s annual Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineer Award program recognizes alumni based on criteria such as career excellence, technical achievement and contributions to the field.
An ECE faculty committee selected Varner and other award recipients from nominees submitted by current and emeritus faculty.
Varner currently oversees ManTech’s MCIS business that provides technical support, systems engineering, information technology and operations and cybersecurity support services to customers in the intelligence, defense and civilian sectors.
Before ManTech, he also held positions at Northrop Grumman, TASC and ESL.
