Steven Smith, senior manager of the First Responder Network Authority, has joined the board of advisers of Fairfax, Virginia-based technology services contractor Sevatec.
He brings to Sevatec’s advisory board three decades of information technology management experience in both the public and private sectors, the company said Thursday.
“We are fortunate to have [Smith] lending his broad federal government expertise and energy to our firm,†said Sonny Kakar, Sevatec founder and chairman.
Kakar added that Smith’s insight on the national security, homeland/law enforcement, commerce and transportation markets will help the company to fulfill customers’ requirements.
Smith previously served as deputy chief information officer at the U.S. Immigration and Customers Enforcement and Federal Highway Administration agencies.
Before that, he worked as chief operating officer at the White House Communications Agency and held various senior roles at the Defense Information Systems Agency and the U.S. Army.
