CAE has installed an updated version of the company’s command and staff training system at a military educational facility located in Weitra, Austria.
The company said Tuesday it implemented the GESI constructive simulation system at Austria’s national defense academy and delivered a third-party communications system to Austria’s Theresian military academy for integration with GESI.
Wolfgang Kralicek, head of section training equipment and simulation at Austria’ defense ministry, said Austria has used CAE GESI over the past two decades and the updated system will provide simulations of scenarios in urban terrain.
The next-generation CAE GESI software is designed with an exercise editor and after-action review tool and supports interoperability with various command-and-control systems, CAE noted.
The company will roll out additional upgrades for the Theresian Military Academy in 2017.
CAE also provides its command and staff training platform for the armies of Germany, Italy, Ireland, Finland, Poland and Norway.
