BAE, Cyber London Extend Collaboration to Help Security Startups; Richard Wilding Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventBAE Systems has extended a partnership with Cyber London for another three years in support of efforts to foster innovation and develop talent in U.K.’s cybersecurity sector.

BAE said Thursday the commitment builds on the first 18 months of the partnership during which more than 23 startup companies complete CyLon’s three-month accelerator program of professional training and guidance.

CyLon, Europe’s first dedicated cybersecurity startup accelerator, offers opportunities for startups to interact with academic, commercial, entrepreneurial, government and investment mentors and serves as a bridge between the public and private sectors.

“We are in advanced discussions with a number of the companies over trialing their technology within BAE Systems and incorporating into the services and products we take to our customers,” said Richard Wilding, director of new ventures and innovation at BAE’s cyber division.

BAE and CyLon will hold a “Demo Day” in London to offer startups an opportunity to interact with potential investors and partners.

CyLon will accept applications for the accelerator’s sixth program through Jan. 20, 2017 and officially kick off the program in March.
