The U.S. Transportation Command seeks partners from the academic and commercial sectors to study the cloud migration process through cooperative research and development agreements.
A notice posted Nov. 16 on FedBizOpps stated the studies will utilize the Global Air Tranportation Execution System‘s information technology architecture as a baseline case to examine risks and migrate an existing government system to a cloud-based environment.
CRADAs that result from the announcement will run for up to two years and Transcom plans to offer partners with government subject matter expertise and access to architecture descriptions for GATES as well as cost, performance and security goals for system migration, according to the notice.
Interested parties can submit white paper responses to Transcom through Dec. 23.
