Science Systems and Applications Inc. has been awarded a potential $10 million contract to provide support for NASA’s atmospheric science and data assimilation research efforts.
NASA said Tuesday the company will support various activities of the Earth Science Division’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office at the agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
The Global Modeling and Assimilation Office uses computer models and data assimilation techniques to conduct research, develop models and produce quasi-operational systems for NASA’s missions.
The contract contains a one-year base period and four one-year options and will run from March 1, 2017 through Feb. 28, 2022.
