Inmarsat has started to offer updated aeronautical services meant to support command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions of government clients.
Inmarsat said Tuesday some government entities use the company’s globally available L-band space and ground network to manage multiple platforms and missions.
The company added its aeronautical services allow partners to offer data transmission rates of up to 10 megabits per second.
“We recognize that rapid and cost-effective commercial innovation that is built to government’s requirements optimizes success for their mission,” said Peter Hadinger, president of Inmarsat’s U.S. government business segment.
“That is why we focus heavily on the development of innovative and dependable technology that maximizes the use of what has already been proven and, often, already adopted by Programs of Record.”
The company noted that available production terminals are suited for manned and unmanned aeronautical platforms.
Production terminal systems use installed antennas such as mechanically steered and phased array antennas to help users meet aeronautical connectivity needs, according to Inmarsat.
