Global Technical Systems has secured an $18.5 million delivery order from the U.S. Navy to produce and test 36 common processing system units that will work to help address the computer requirements of various Navy combat systems.
The open architecture-based Technical Insertion Twelve Hybrid CPS will comprise an enclosure assembly as well as processing, storage/extraction and input/output subsystems, the Defense Department said Monday.
GTS will provide water-cooled and air-cooled CPS, spares and related engineering services to the Navy under the order.
Work will occur at the company’s facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia through June 2017.
The Naval Sea Systems Command used fiscal 2016 “other” procurement funds to cover the full obligated amount.
