Symantec has integrated the company’s threat intelligence systems with the security telemetry of Blue Coat in an effort to provide threat visibility and protection to customers.
The companies have applied the brute data-crunching force of artificial intelligence to help analyze large volumes of security data, Symantec said Wednesday.
“By fast-tracking the integration of the threat intelligence capabilities from Symantec and Blue Coat, Symantec products are now blocking 500,000 additional attacks per day for our endpoint, email and web security customers,†Symantec CEO Greg Clark said.
“Drawing out those kinds of results from data is only possible by using artificial intelligence, which gives our threat researchers a vastly augmented ability to spot attacks earlier than anyone else,†Clark added.
The integration establishes Symantec’s Integrated Cyber Defense Platform to help share threat intelligence and build up security for customers across every control point.
Symantec and Blue Coat managed to detect new attack campaigns such as the cyber espionage campaign of Buckeye, sophisticated financial heists and phishing attacks through the partnership.
