Northrop Grumman has received a nine-year contract extension to continue to provide maintenance and modification support services for the U.K.’s fleet of airborne early warning and control system aircraft, Defense News reported Thursday.
Andrew Chuter writes news on the deal comes after Cohort announced that its MASS subsidiary secured a potential $14.6 million contract to extend the provision of managed information technology services for Boeing-built Sentry E-3D planes at Royal Air Force Waddington.
The Sentry E-3D aircraft has the Northrop-built APY-2 radar and works to help warfighters interdict aerial and maritime targets.
Cohort serves as one of the subcontractors on the 20-year Sentry Whole Life Support program through its MASS subsidiary, which collaborates with Northrop, AAR Corp. and Cobham Aviation Services on the initiative, Chuter reports.
The report said Northrop has provided modification and maintenance support for the Sentry WLSP program since it secured the original contract in 2005.
