U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has released a report that outlines several public and private sector commitments in support of the Obama administration’s Cancer Moonshot program.
Consulting firm Noetic has teamed up with the Ohio State University and American Psychological Association to form a health intervention program that seeks to help health providers, patients and their family members manage the risk of post-traumatic stress disorder associated with cancer diagnosis, the White House said Monday.
Noetic’s partnership with APA and Ohio State is one of the private sector commitments in response to Biden’s call to action for the Cancer Moonshot initiative.
President Barack Obama asked Biden through his 2016 state of the union address to oversee the Cancer Moonshot program, which aims to launch efforts designed to facilitate diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancer within five years.
Biden also leads the Cancer Moonshot Task Force that was established in January under a presidential memorandum.
