A Marvin Group business unit will redesign and update the auxiliary power units in the vehicle electronics of Multiple Launch Rocket System vehicles under a pre-solicitation notice issued by the U.S. Army, Military & Aerospace Electronics reported Thursday.
The report stated that Marvin Land Systems will work to further develop the MLRS’ electric and hydraulic APUs for the Army.
The company will also construct and demonstrate an electric-only APU that armored ground vehicles such as the M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle can accommodate.
The upcoming contract for the project does not yet have a value and is under negotiation, the report said.
California-based Marvin Land Systems supplied the APU and environmental control unit that are in use by existing MLRS vehicles.
The APUs provide power to generate propulsion for the MLRS vehicle and cool onboard crew.
