Kratos Defense and Security Solutions Inc. has been awarded a $54 million contract to build five training systems for the U.S. Marine Corps to train the military branch’s aircrews.
Kratos said Monday it will supply Marine Common Aircrew Trainers to the Marine Corps for use in the training of Super Stallion, Osprey and Venom enlisted aircrews.
Training will revolve around aerial gunnery, external lift operations, combat scenarios, standard and emergency flight procedures, hoist operations and crew coordination in simulated conditions.
Kratos will work to engineer, manufacture and develop the MCATs as part of the Marine Corps’ Aviation Training System.
Jose Diaz, senior vice president of Kratos’ training solutions business, said the MCAT will leverage the company’s aircrew training systems development portfolio established through Kratos’ research and development efforts.
