Esri will participate in a program that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Weather Service aim to prepare U.S. citizens and bolster infrastructure against extreme weather threats.
Esri said Tuesday the Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador program collaborates with various organizations in an effort to establish preparedness for scenarios during extreme weather.
“Our goal is to work with WRN Ambassadors in a whole community approach to make individuals and businesses ready, responsive and resilient against extreme events,” says Douglas Hilderbrand, head of the WRN Ambassador program at NWS.
Esri noted that geographic information systems have helped mitigate the impact of weather.
The company continues to provide data and mapping services to support NOAA’s nowCOAST weather data portal.
