DeepSpaceNetworkA Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary has received an additional $14.4 million order by the Defense Information Systems Agency to continue the company’s managed satellite support services to the U.S. Marine Corps.

DISA awarded the order to exercise the third option year under a previously awarded contract to TeleCommunication Systems, which is part of Comtech’s government services segment, the company said Thursday.

The exercised option increases the contract’s total value to $58.4 million.

TCS will continue to provide Ku-band satellite bandwidth and terrestrial support for the Marine Corps’ Tactical Satellite Communications Network through July 31, 2017.

The order was awarded through DISA’s joint Future Commercial SATCOM Acquisition program with the General Services Administration.

TCS is one of eight companies that won the $2.6 billion Custom SATCOM Solutions contract vehicle in August 2012.
