Conrad Shipyard to Construct Welded Steel Barge for Army Corps of Engineers - top government contractors - best government contracting eventConrad Shipyard will build a welded steel barge to support floating crane services of the Army Corps of Engineers-Rock Island District under a $17.7 million firm-fixed-price contract awarded by the U.S. Army.

The Defense Department said Friday USACE received one bid for the procurement effort via the Internet and obligated the full contract amount from the Army’s fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.

DoD noted the contractor will perform work in Morgan City, Louisiana through Feb. 20, 2019.

Morgan City, Louisiana-based Conrad Shipyard offers construction, conversion and repair services for various marine vessels as well as manufactures modular components for offshore drilling rigs and floating production, storage and offloading vessels for commercial and government customers.
