Lockheed Martin, the United Arab Emirates’ space agency and investment firm Mubadala have introduced a new development program with the goal to train future aerospace industry leaders in UAE.
Generation Space: The Space Fundamentals Training Program will provide training in space foundations to early career professionals across the UAE aerospace industry over the next four months, Lockheed said Wednesday.
The course will cover more than 200 hours and participants will undergo mentor-guided research projects.
“This program brings together emerging Emirati leaders to support their training and development to literally reach beyond the stars,” said Nabil Azar, regional director of Lockheed Martin’s space systems company.
Participants are scheduled to complete Lockheed’s U.S. space industry immersion program in September.
The Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation and Security Solutions in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, will serve as the headquarters for all classroom training, guest lectures and other events under the program.
