A partnership between Fluor, Honeywell and SN3 Stoller Newport News Nuclear has been awarded a 22-month contract extension to continue to help the Energy Department manage the Savannah River Site in South Carolina.
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions will continue its operation and maintenance services at the nuclear reservation facility after DOE exercised an option under a contract originally awarded in January 2008, Fluor said Monday.
Bruce Stanski, Fluor’s government group president, said the company puts focus on safety and security across the SRNS organization in support of DOE’s project mission.
The Savannah River Site is built to maintain the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile, process and store nuclear weapon materials for the country’s nuclear non-proliferation efforts and cleanup legacy materials, facilities and wastes left from the Cold War.
Fluor has supported DOE over the past 70 years.
The company currently helps the department facilitate Idaho Site cleanup efforts, Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant deactivation project and the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant decontamination and decommissioning initiative.
