Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky subsidiary has unveiled a new forward stocking location for S-76 and S-92 helicopter parts at its Helitech customer support center in Brisbane, Australia.
Lockheed said Wednesday the in-country warehousing of spare parts aids Sikorsky’s efforts to boost customer support in the area by facilitating quicker access to materials for Australia-based commercial helicopter operators.
“By positioning inventory parts closer to customers, we are able to deliver parts in hours rather than days,” said Joe Triompo, Sikorsky vice president of customer support.
“This has been a joint effort working with operators to expand our support presence to meet fleet requirements for improved operational readiness for all their critical missions.”
Sikorsky said it also expects to open another FSL in Aberdeen, Scotland, within the year.
The company opened an FSL in Stavanger, Norway, in March to support helicopter operations in the region.
