Esri will oversee and host Michigan’s imagery data under an agreement with the state’s Department of Technology, Management and Budget.
Esri will use its cloud platform to host up to 25 terabytes of light detection and ranging data and orthophotography for DTMB’s center for shared solutions that is responsible for the state’s geographic data sharing efforts, the company said Tuesday.
“We are proud to partner with the state of Michigan to help them empower their staff across multiple departments and partner with other agencies through sharing common authoritative geospatial data,†said Christopher Thomas, director of government markets at Esri.
DTMB provides each Michigan government-operated institution in the state with at least 60 mapping datasets created through Esri’s ArcGIS geographic information platform.
