Lockheed Martin has partnered with Hamad bin Khalifa University in Qatar and the University of Patras in Greece to help the Qatari government develop a framework to address cybersecurity challenges, BQ Magazine reported Sunday.
The magazine reports the partnership was unveiled during the 1st International Cyber Security Technologies Roundtable event where professionals from the academic and commercial sectors discussed cybersecurity matters in Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
“Lockheed Martin looks forward to leveraging our global technology expertise to support Qatar’s efforts to keep its networks and citizens safe from the emerging cyber challenges,” said Tom Milton, chief executive of Lockheed’s Qatar operations.
The two-day roundtable aimed to facilitate the development of national cybersecurity strategy that works to foster multisector educational and human capital programs throughout Qatar, according to the publication.
