The General Services Administration wants information from the wireless industry on technical offerings that can help address mobile security threats the government faces.
In a FedBizOpps notice posted Thursday, GSA said it also seeks information on industry standards that can facilitate implementation of enterprise mobile security platforms.
GSA urged companies to recommend strategies for agencies to assess and mitigate threats.
Response submissions will support a congressionally mandated study as well as help the government explore mobile security technologies and identify related research opportunities for agencies, companies and academic organizations, the agency noted.
The RFI is meant to aid in market research, information and planning and does not imply a future solicitation.
Responses are due Aug. 22.
