Drone Aviation has launched a new heavy-lift, higher-altitude tethered unmanned aerial system designed for persistent military operations.
The Bolt coaxial tethered helicopter is part of Drone Aviation’s portfolio of drones and is set for exhibit at ADS‘ Warrior Expo East this week at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, Drone Aviation said Wednesday.
Jay Nussbaum, chairman and CEO of Drone Aviation, said the company developed the drone platform with input from military and civilian customers and partners in an effort to help them meet various operational requirements.
Bolt features a coaxial helicopter rotor; an active tether system; a universal payload bay that supports radio, communications, signal intelligence and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance packages; and a “follow me” flight mode.
