Curtiss-Wright has released a new compact switch technology the company’s defense solutions unit designed to transmit video camera data to multiple displays.
The RVG-SDI Crossbar Video Switch consists of eight external miniBNC connectors and works to route 3G, high-definition and standard definition serial digital interface video sources, Curtiss-Wright said June 13.
“A growing challenge for system integrators is how to get the most effective use out of the proliferating number cameras and displays being deployed without adding more space and weight,” said Lynn Bamford, senior vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright’s defense solutions unit.
Bamford added the company developed RVG-SDI to help address that challenge.
RVG-SDI is designed to also support various switch configurations as well as integrate with size, weight and power-constrained manned and unmanned military and aerospace platforms.
The conduction-cooled device is MIL-STD-810G standards compliant and DO-160 qualified, Curtiss-Wright noted.
