Piedmont Propulsion Systems has been selected to overhaul and repair the propeller systems installed on the U.S. Coast Guard’s fleet of HC-144A Ocean Sentry aircraft.
The company will maintain the Hamilton Sundstrand-made 14RF propellers of HC-144A planes for the service branch under the five-year contract, PPS said Friday.
“We’re very proud to be able to serve the USCG’s very important mission and maintain its aircraft propellers,” noted Sammy Oakley, general manager of PPS.
The HC-144A, produced by Airbus‘ military business, is designed for medium-range surveillance and maritime patrol operations.
North Carolina-based PPS currently provides aircraft propeller repair and overhaul services to the departments of Homeland Security, Defense, Transportation, Commerce and Justice.
