Federal agencies should include concepts and changes in technology surrounding the Internet of Things as they work to secure mobile devices inside their networks, Microsoft‘s Susie Adams told MeriTalk in an interview published Monday.
Adams, federal chief technology officer for the software giant, said the mindset of federal agencies should be to have a network of secure devices rather than a secure network of devices.
“If you’re going to allow people to work remotely, on any device, those devices are now your boundary. Most people are still thinking old school, and most of that is because of the support ecosystem that’s still in place today.” Adams told writer Jessie Bur.
Adams added agencies should work on shorter cyber implementations to evaluate and address issues in networks and devices without disruptions to the work of employees.
