Industrial Electronic Engineers has landed a contract to supply 3.5-inch handheld control display units for the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command‘s Northrop Grumman-built software-programmable jammers.
IEE said Tuesday the CDUs will be used on the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare Increment 1 Block 1 systems designed to provide protection against device-triggered IEDs.
“We’ve been working with Northrop Grumman for quite some time though the developmental stages of this critical project and are delighted to continue to the production phase,” said IEE CEO Tom Whinfrey.
The company noted that the handheld CDU features night-vision goggles and night-vision imaging system backlighting, sealing/immersion capacity and snap-dome buttons with tactile feedback and complies with the MIL-STD-461/462 standard.
IEE offers optical bonding and lamination, smart and flat-panel displays, rapid prototyping and development, tactical displays, naval and airborne displays, handheld devices and component life-cycle management services for military and industrial applications.
