The U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation has introduced a new certification program for U.S. and international GEOINT professionals across industry, military, academia and government.
USGIF officially unveiled the the Universal GEOINT Certification Program during the general session at its GEOINT 2016 Symposium, USGIF said Monday.
The certification program requires three exams for applicants to obtain the GIS and Analysis Tools, Remote Sensing and Imagery Analysis and Geospatial Data Management certifications.
Geospatial intelligence practitioners who hold all three certifications can apply for USGIF’s Universal GEOINT Professional designation, according to the foundation.
USGIF awarded the UGP designations to Talbot Brooks, Stewart Bruce, Chris Johnson, Angel Martinez, Christopher Stahl and Michael Wood during the program’s pilot tests.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency also unveiled at the symposium a certification program for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Enterprise as part of an effort to help hiring officials choose between two certifications.
