Redwood City, California-based internet services company Box has unveiled a new industry product built to help government agencies at the federal, state and local levels manage cloud computing resources.
Sonny Hashmi, managing director at Box, said Thursday in a blog post on the company website that “Box for Government” looks to provide agencies a single product to manage content and share information from any location on different types of devices.
Box for Government is built to comply with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program cloud initiative and includes features that work to help users manage system security and information.
Hashmi added that more than 6,500 government agencies worldwide use Box and that scope includes the Justice Department, Commerce Department, states of New York, California, Washington, Florida and international government entities in Europe, Canada and the United Nations.
