Raytheon will partner with American University’s Kogod Cybersecurity Governance Center in an effort to help address prevention, detection and response challenges through cybersecurity research and education.
The company said Thursday it has provided initial funds for the university’s newly-launched KCGC unit in support of Raytheon’s commitment to help promote governance in cybersecurity.
“Teaming with academia is foundational to governance and thoughtful preparation,” said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence segment.
He added the company works to support strategies for cybersecurity governance and collaborate with the KCGC to develop new strategies through its knowledge in the global interdependence of cyber threats.
KCGC will work to aid corporate board members, C-level executives and IT leaders face management, leadership and governance challenges through collaborative, objective, multidisciplinary research in cybersecurity governance and enterprise cyber risk management.
